Blog Tour: Fireblood by Trisha Wolfe (Interview + Giveaway)

Today I have the pleasure of welcoming author Trisha Wolfe to the blog as part of a blog tour for her latest novel, Fireblood. We also have an awesome giveaway for you guys, so after reading the interview and checking out Fireblood be sure to scroll down and enter!

1) Welcome to Bookish, Trisha! I'm so happy to have you stopping by the blog today! Congratulations on your most recent release, FIREBLOOD *throws confetti in the air*. How would you describe it to those who haven't heard of it yet?

Thanks for having me, Evie! I just love your blog :D Hmm, let’s see. A futuristic Camelot with dangerous knights and evil kings, and one determined, stubborn princess who rebels against them all. With kissing and one hot knight, of course.

2) What were the challenges in bringing this story to life? Did you have to do any research for your book?

I did do some research. Not as much as I had to for ASTARTE’S WRATH, that was based on a culture from 2 thousand years ago…but writing about a medieval culture even when it’s been adapted for the future still requires some know how. I have to thank my editing team a lot. I had some wonderful editors who knew their medieval stuff.

3) Can you share with us a few of your favorite quotes from FIREBLOOD?

(From Devlan) He breathes deeply through his nose, his lips pressed into a hard line. His eyes scan my face as his chest rises and falls. “Don’t let them break you,” he whispers. “Be made of steel, like the walls that surround you.”

(From Sebastian) His gaze traps mine, and a rare flash of concern registers on his face. He draws me to him as he moves forward, closer. The hand facing the crowd shields my lips as he places a kiss next to my mouth, on my cheek.

“I can be patient,” he whispers in my ear. “Just don’t make me wait too long.

4) What are some of your literary inspirations? Favorite books/authors?

Anne Rice, Voltaire, Maria V. Snyder, Richelle Mead, and many, many more.

5) Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Not really, no. I mean, I’m all about strong women, and just standing up for yourself (men and women). But at the end of the day, I write for entertainment. If someone gets something deeper and inspiring out of one of my books, that just makes the hard work all the more worth it.

6) Fill in the blanks:

* If I was magically transported back in time to the Dark Ages, I'd...Try my hardest to suck up to a rich family…with a nice washroom.

* I'm a pro at...Technology.

* I'm addicted to...Coffee.

* I'm scared of...Bugs.

* The last book I faked reading was...…Hmm. Not sure I ever faked reading one?

7) Are you working on a new book now? If so, when can we expect it? Can you share some juicy details to keep our appetites going?

I am! I’m just about finished with OF DARKNESS AND CROWNS, the sequel book in The Goddess Wars series. And then I’ll be starting the second book in The Living Heartwood series, my New Adult Contemp series, with a character from THE DARKEST PART, Biker Melody. She was such a fun character to write, even though she didn’t have a huge part in the first book, but I just couldn’t get her out of my head. Her story will be interesting.

To save a kingdom, Zara must choose between a prince who could be the answer and a rising rebellion that threatens to take control.

When Zara Dane is chosen to marry Prince Sebastian Hart, son of the man who ordered her father’s capture, Zara knows she must fight to save everything she loves from ruin.

Being betrothed to the prince means a life trapped behind the towering stone walls of the Camelot-forged realm. Under the watchful eye of the prince's first knight, Sir Devlan Capra, changing her future becomes difficult.

When an unlikely rebel reveals the truth about the deadly secrets that fuel King Hart’s twisted world, Zara’s path to rescue her father becomes clouded by deception. The Rebels clear her path by forcing Zara’s hand with an ultimatum: sway Prince Sebastian to join the Rebels, convincing him of his father’s evil nature, or they will take him out.

But Zara is uncertain about a future under the Rebels’ command and where the prince’s heart truly lies. She must decide who to trust, what to believe, and what she’s truly fighting for before the king destroys all of Karm, including her heart.
